Linda Kemp

Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, I spent a lot of my youth riding the subway and cruising through the Boston Museum of Fine Art by myself.  The mummies were my favorite back then.  Mostly self-taught, I have always enjoyed drawing and painting.  I read tons of artists' biographies and art history books and became enamored of all kinds of art.  My parents had absolutely no interest in art.  My mother said that artists didn't make any money and that I should aspire to be an executive secretary.  She was right about the money but I didn't care.

My paintings reflect my life. I enjoy doing portraits and work mostly from my own photographs. I have been in shows in Hawaii and Los Angeles but mostly in Florida.
